Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ large yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 pound ground lean beef or turkey
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ Tablespoon ground chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 4-6 whole wheat hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet, over medium-high heat. Add onion and sauté until translucent.
  2. Add meat, season with salt and chili powder, and cook until is fully cooked. (Drain any liquid before adding the rest of the ingredients.)
  3. Add the next 6 ingredients (mustard through tomato sauce). Stir until well combined. Cook for approximately 5 to 10 minutes, uncovered.
  4. Serve on warm hamburger buns.

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can tomato sauce 8 oz can
  • 4-6 wheat hamburger buns
